We accept:
|
1. Pack heavier items like books and canned goods in smaller boxes, and pack lighter items such as small appliances, pots and pans, etc... in larger boxes. 2. Don't save all your packing for the last day! You can start packing items not needed well in advance, thus giving you a lot less to do at the last minute. 3. Be sure to carefully save all hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) from furniture that you take apart. Some lost hardware is near impossible to replace. 4. Be sure to thoroughly wrap fragile items individually with paper. After wrapping your plates, stand them on their side in the box with a layer of paper under them. Never lay plates flat, all the weight is on the bottom few, which could cause them to break. Glasses should be packed standing up, making them stronger than if they were laid on their side. 5. Mark the top and sides of all cartons with the contents and room it belongs to, such as the bedroom, kitchen, or living room. Marking your boxes will make identifying where things are, or belong in your new location a whole lot easier. 6. Pictures in glass frames or mirrors should be wrapped in blankets and then packed in flattened out cartons with plenty of cushion on the edges. Alternatively, you can use mirror/picture boxes to pack 3 to 4 items at a time. Be sure to use paper or padding between items in the box to ensure their safety. 7. Stack all cartons neatly against a wall, so as to have unobstructed paths to prevent the possibility of tripping. 8. Whenever possible disassemble beds and remove mirrors from dressers or walls. We will do these things for you if needed, but you will save time if you do them. Saving time saves you money. |
